Hancock & Moore, which specializes in custom orders, works under the understanding that style comes from within. The company was founded with a simple vision — to craft fine quality leather and upholstered pieces custom-made to fit the customer’s needs. The company makes sofas, ottomans, chairs, recliners, barstools and more. All products are handmade and built to order.

Founder Jimmy Moore honed his skills in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina while working in carpentry. From there, he advanced to woodturning and eventually took on design. Jimmy has spent hours fine tuning skills such as carving, stitching and handcrafting leather. Those years in the Blue Ridge Mountains have made him a master artisan able to manipulate solid woods, soft leathers and fine fabrics into signature pieces.

Hancock & Moore artisans take approximately 80 hours to complete each piece. It starts with a basic frame where the design team uses the best quality, grade A wood to create a solid foundation. From there, they add reinforcements like double dowel joints, corner blocks, 8-way hand-tied coil springs and conical shaped springs. They choose leather material from the top two percent to reduce scratches and scarring. Each artisan signs his or her work with pride.

Hancock & Moore also is able to build the same quality furniture in fabric as it does in leather. It has a wide selection of more than 500 beautiful fabrics ranging from 100% silk to cotton/acrylic/polyester blends. Fabrics are hand selected to ensure only the best materials are used.
